The Characters of Cove Point Manor Welcome YOU!

Every story begins with its characters.
Before you step inside Cove Point Manor, it might help to know a little about the people who are about to invite you into their world.
This isn't a biography of each character, and it certainly isn't a roadmap of what is going to happen. Think of it as a brief introduction—just enough to put a face and a little history to the names you'll encounter along the way.
Alex Tinsdill
Alex Tinsdill is a 38-year-old Canadian from Toronto whose life has been decidedly ordinary—at least until a DNA test changes everything.
Alex grew up in a working-class family. His parents lived in a modest bungalow in the eastern suburbs of Toronto, and both his parents worked. Alex worked part-time jobs while growing up and never expected to suddenly find himself connected to a wealthy American family.
He is curious, practical, and comfortable being himself. He's also a man who appreciates history, which becomes rather important when he discovers that his own family history isn't quite what he thought it was.
And then there's Maybelline: Alex's beloved 1956 Cadillac Coupe de Ville is more than just transportation. The big black Cadillac has been part of his life for years, and Alex has a particular fondness for driving it while singing along to the music of the 1950s and 1960s.
Alex may have inherited something far beyond what he ever expected, but he hasn't forgotten where he came from.
Maggie Crosby
Maggie Crosby has known Cove Point Manor almost her entire life.
Her family has been connected to the estate for generations. Her great-grandfather was the original head groundskeeper at Cove Point, and her grandfather grew up on the property. Maggie herself spent much of her childhood there.
Today, she runs Crosby Property Management, the family business responsible for looking after the estate. Maggie has a genuine affection for Cove Point. When she learns that the long-vacant mansion is finally going to have a new owner, she personally takes on the job of preparing the house.
She is confident, capable, and very much at home whether she's wearing work clothes while looking after the estate or dressed up for a formal occasion.
There is also something about Maggie that even she doesn't fully understand yet.
Brenda Sonwil
Brenda Sonwil arrives at Cove Point with a history of her own.
She is Connie's mother and has known Alex for many years. Her relationship with Alex goes back to a time when life was very different for all of them.
Brenda is a hard worker and someone who has spent much of her life dealing with circumstances that haven't always gone the way she hoped. She has strong opinions, a quick temper, and a very definite idea of how she believes people should treat her.
She is also not someone who easily lets go of the past.
Connie Sonwil
Connie is Brenda's daughter.
Where Brenda has spent much of her life working hard and dealing with disappointment, Connie has taken a very different approach to life: Connie wants more. She wants the good things she sees other people enjoying—money, comfort, recognition and the lifestyle she believes she deserves.
She and Alex have known each other for a long time, although the three of them—Alex, Brenda and Connie—have certainly not remained the same people they once were.
When Connie enters the world of Cove Point Manor, she brings her own expectations with her.
Rebecca Farnsworth
Rebecca Farnsworth is the woman in the portrait.
She is Alex's great-great-grandmother and one of the most important figures in the history of Cove Point Manor.
Rebecca was born into a well-to-do New York family and married William Farnsworth, the Scottish immigrant who would build the magnificent estate on Long Island's Gold Coast.
More than a century later, her portrait still hangs in the foyer of the mansion. But Rebecca's connection to Cove Point didn't end with her life.
There is a history surrounding Rebecca that reaches back into the early days of the estate—and there may be more to the woman in the portrait than anyone living at Cove Point initially realizes.
